Who's in charge now

After sending my comments on PAT making PRC a non-entity, I had some
additional thoughts:

Some might say that PAT was eradicating vestiges of PRC for legal
reasons, but there are plenty of examples of old buildings (especially
banks) downtown that retained their old names on the facades after new
owners took over. We can be thankful that Penn Central, and later
Conrail, didn't find it necessary - or have the money - to remove the
stone references to "PRR" at Union Station.

In its rush to "take off the old, and get on the new" after 3/1/64, PAT
sometimes got a bit heavy handed. Partly, I believe, to create a new
image for the public, but also to show the former PRC employees that a
new organization was now in charge and things were going to be different.

Early on the morning of March 1, 1964 I recall being surprised to see
white, "PAAC owner..." stickers on the sides of EVERY trolley and bus in
service. How many people did it take to get all those strickers on the
equipment in a matter of hours after the Midnight takeover?
