line? >>
In checking the PATransit routing/schedule sheets from 1965 I find that Rt 88
operated out of Craft Avenue CH. Homewood had been converted to an all bus
operating division. Heavy trolley maintenance was, however, still done at
Homewood.
The sheet for 88-FRANKSTOWN contains the following notations:
On-road/Off-road trips:
On road trips to Braddock/Felicia via Forbes, Craig, RT 71 and regular route
from Penn/Negley [allow 10 minutes recovery time].
On road trips to Tioga Street Loop via RT 76 with 5 minutes recovery [show
5th/Halket time].
Off road trips from Tioga St Loop via RT 76 with no recovery [show 5th/Halket
time].
On/Off road trips to and from city: show 5th/Halket time
PM On-Road trips to city via RT 77/54 northbound [show Penn/Main time]
Standby cars are to be stored in yard at Lang/Felicia as follows, with
operators traveling via Regular Scheduled Service as required:
Weekday-1 car from after AM peak to beginning of PM peak
1 car from after AM peak to last evening relief available to
return car
Sat/Sun---1 car from first available relief to last evening relief available
to return car
Night cars are extended to Jane St. Loop and operate on and off road from
City.
******End of Schedule Sheet Information******
I was always common with both PRCo and PAT to require operators to pick
up/discharge passengers on pull-in/pull-out trips. Therefore, the car would
make some money if anyone wanted to ride it.
