The Little Saw Mill Run RR, eventually part of the West Side Belt
RR, ran down Little Saw Mill Run (alongside the Banksville Road),
then Saw Mill Run to the Monongahela. Only this last part, forming
the W Side Belt's entry to Pittsburgh, remains. The Banksville
branch appears on a 1930 street map and on the P&WV maps
(though not the timetables) in 1916, 1930 and 1938 Guides, but not
in a 1947 Guide. Nor is it shown on a 1948 USGS topo.

The Pittsburgh Southern climbed more or less directly from
Banksville to what became the site of Clearview Loop over a route
long since obliterated, then, of course, on to Castle Shannon.
