Yes, I *were* -- actually, St. Louis Car Company says that -- I am
just observing what they said! But black in this case is a *trim* color
as is the *Charnak Green* used around the belt-rail and floor level -
Otherwise the car would be Red-->>--CREAM--<<--Black--Charnak--Green!
Here are tha *Black Windshields* - maybe it is actually Charnak Green!
It was apparently painted over the cream as it turned into Grime very
fast, exposing the cream underneath. Floquil got their base pigment
from the PRCo 1700s front windows!

after delivery.
http://davesrailpix.railfan.net/pitts/jpg/pitt155.jpg -- 1949 not long
after delivery. Note that the *tape* over the rounded end of the roof
monitor has not yet been applied!
http://davesrailpix.railfan.net/pitts/jpg/pitt138.jpg -- 1952--1953
-- 3 to 4-1/2 years after delivery.

-- 14--15-years after delivery - J. C. Swindler photo!
But Red--WHITE--BLACK??
