One could assume that the diamonds crossing the railroad were removed
immediately because of the wear and tear associated with them as well as
wear and tear the diamonds could cause the equipment. Railroads did NOT
like at grade crossings with other rail lines, esp. trolleycars!
Ed-L may know whether or not the rest of the track / rail from the
abandoned station was removed. So you may get a definitive answer Tues
or Wed.!

COLORS: Never looked that closely at the doors on WP; Bob mentioned
that he gave them a *wash* over the orange to simulate stained wood
which sounds very interesting! It might be a logical choice as well,
esp. for the *original* paint scheme since the interiors might have been
stained cherry and the doors might be stained for a match!
From the color picture on the 1973 PRMA *WP Railways* booklet, it
appears as though the doors were a darker orange. Maybe paint on wood
and metal fade differently?!?!

TRUCK Colors. Don't know if it is rust on the WP trucks - would be
some but doubt the color is entirely rust. If you look at photos of
PRCo PCCs when new, the trucks were NOT black (thank goodness) but a
medium to dark sand color that appeared to be very fine sandpaper in
texture! Doubt it is rust on brand new cars.
On WP, more than likely MUD!!
