It seems funny that it took Pittsburgh (from 1936 to the 1980s) and two
operating entities to finally get around to painting the rear roof section of
the PCCs black to hide the splatter from the overhead. Even LA, where car
maintenance was almost legendary, went to white roofs with the MTA "Green
Scheme." One could wonder how much time and taxpayer money was wasted cleaning
those white roofs directly below the trolley shoes.   Ken J.
