I never had any problem getting into TTC yards legally as long as I had a clear
purpose in mind and expressed it first in the company offices!  I have been
allowed in Hillcrest and Davisville to photograph men at work and equipment.
I've photographed control equipment ... having permission to remove covers.  I've
done the wash rack inside Russell on a winter day (when 6 of 7 cars on the
streets were white from salt) and Russell's wheel lathe.  Of course, working on a
book or magazine project makes getting in much easier!  Pretty much the same is
true anywhere.  At one time I even carried a New York City Transit Authority
annual photographer's pass.  The point being made by Mr. DuPuis is, TTC regards
its land as private property like you and I do our own homes.
