Visiting Toronto

Speaking of gauges...the market is "w i d e"
open for G-scale entries. Bachmann and Lionel have versions of the early
single truck dinkeys, but have yet to produce a PCC or Jones Car in 'G'
versions.

The growing number of G-scale enthusiasts is evidenced by 'G' displays
as those set up at the Greenberg Train Shows. Many are setting up
layouts outdoors in their gardens where the opportunity presents itself
for operating traction rolling stock in an atmosphere of total,
realistic, ambience.

The possibilities for super detailing a piece of rolling stock has never
been better with 'G'. Hope the G-scale manufacturers expand on the
traction end with at least a few of the more popular cars. If not, there
are a few of us who enjoy 'scratching' our favorite cars and modifying
a power truck or so to get em rolling.

Being too quick associating G-scalers with white canes may be a mistake,
especially when observing 'N' and 'HO' scalers wearing 4x half tones
practicing for theirs. <grin>
