Fred Bruhn asked me off-line about a trolley line in Ohio, and while I
checked my post card collection to confirm some facts about that line, I
found a couple of dozen post cards of Pittsburgh scenes that are kind of
interesting. These are cards published in the late 1950's and early
60's. They show primarily city scenes, and trolleys just happen to be in
the views; mosty in the backgrounds. There are several views of trolleys
on Grant St. and the Smithfield St. Bridge, but the most interesting
cards are:

- Views of early Gateway Center (only three buildings at that time) and
the future site of Point Park (mostly rubble) showing West End line
trolleys.

- View of the Alcoa Building with a trolley in front. This PCC is
southbound on Sixth Avenue, and appears to be painted orange and black.
It could be on 22-Crosstown, but it doesn't look like the Mohawk Airlines
car which had more black paint than the car in this view. Anyone have an
idea on identity?

- A reasonably good view of a PCC on Fifth Avenue in front of the
trolleyfan's favorite hotel - the Webster Hall.

- A couple of cards of Buhl Planetarium with PCC's in front on W. Ohio
St. One card even shows an orange Brill bus.

There are also a couple of early post cards taken at PTM, probably in
1964-68. Two different cards show 4398 - on one card this car is clearly
orange, while on the other card it's orange/yellow. Deteriorated paint
or deteriorated post card?
