Greg:
The 1700 PCC's were placed in interurban service upon their arrival
in early 1949. The 3700's and 3800's were removed from service about
November 1950 and placed in dead storage at Ingram where they were
scrapped in early 1952 -- none were saved and no bodies exist. I
can't comment on the 3700's but I believe that 2, possibly 3, of the
3800's were scrapped in the late 40's. The 3750's continued to see
occasional tripper service until circa 1953 when they, too went to
the junkman (except for 3756 now at PTM).
I had heard that one of the older operators (and PTM member) had the
entire front end of a 3800 at his home -- but I can't corroborate
this -- if so, he most probably would have donated it by now to PTM
which, if so, has it squirreled away somewhere. Frankly, I believe
the whole thing is just a fable -- I would like to have taken some
measurements from it!
I have been an Associate Member of Arden since 1960, a Member since
1982, and a revenue Operator there since 1990.

Hi Tom,
Thanks, I'll look forward to seeing those, would there be any of the older
3700 type plans around? Did any of the 3700's last till the end of the
3800's and, how long after the PCC's arrived did the last of the 37 and
3800's go, in other words, did last till the end of the interurban lines
and, did any of the bodies get saved (as sheds etc., even). When i get
around to building myself a Jones car, it will be one of the D/E types as
used in Washington (as my PCC is signed for Washington), I like the idea of
the local operation at the end of the Interurban line.
Is anybody/everybody on the list a member at Arden, I would like to chat
off-list about it if someone would like too.
Greg
