[PRCo] Shifting Divisions

Ken!
I don't know what the rules of seniority were like on ({[pat]}) but I
doubt there would be much moving around and doubt too many people would
move to SHJ.
Much would depend on personal circumstances like family and housing and
a probably increase in commuting time. And once roots are established,
that makes it all the more difficult to change.
It would be very easy for me - relative to Pgh. - to make a change into
different divisions - addition of just 15-min commute time over present
to any of the other divisions whereas that addition could be
30-60--minutes in Pgh. Yet in 25-years I have done so only once!(:=>)
Besides, the transition wouldn't be much different than hiring a
totally new employee and placing that one on rails first!(:=>)
What caused a big shift here in SF is new equipment - advent of lrvs
and subway operation appealed to seniors who see this as light duty!
And it is assumed that if the new ETI-Skodas go to Potrero first that
senior operators from Presidio will desert(one or two *s's*??!) Won't
be me, though; I have operated the new coaches in testing and if I don't
operate them in service, I won't be disappointed!
I have *thought* it would be nice to spend my last year on rails -
PCCs - but don't really know if I want to hassle with that change! And
while I toy with the idea of gutterliners because I am weary of TCs, I
have thought that for several years and don't know if I shall make the
move!
