Hi Guys,

One day, many years ago, I was operating car 1003 (one of our W7 class
cars), when I was crossing a half Grand Union (it's now 3/4 GU) the power
droped and the wire was bouncing around so I pulled up (luckily, I cleared
the intersection), when I got out I could'nt see the pole, then I saw it and
the trolley base and the planks it was bolted to, swinging from the
overhead!!! The rope had wrapped around the wire (our W's never had
catchers) and the planks must have been rotten and gave way, did that ever
cause a hold up!!!!

Cheers
Greg
