Item Description: 
	Well-preserved old scrapbook with newspaper & magazine
clippings, photos, etc. all relating to Trolley Cars
and their disappearance, streetcars, and the emerging
subway systems and els.  Primarily clipping from Pa.
newspapers and from National Geographics with each
dated by the compiler in the margins but also with
some more vintage clippings that he/she apparently
came across in the 50s and added to the book (for
example one from 1931 and another, with photo, from
1911.  Lots of trolley car wrecks, "last ride on the
xxx line", and photos of other trolleys and streetcars
from around the world.  There is even a Mickey Finn
color comics cartoon of 8 panels dated Nov 17, 1957
that highlights the entire scrapbook as the story line
there is one on the "last day for the trolley operation
in town" and how Mr. Flanagan was selected to drive
the "last run" because of his many years of service
with no incidents.  Of course, the trolley, in its
"final run" ends up crashing.  Over 100 photos and 
clipped articles on the subject.  Back cover has a
pasted-on map of "Johnstown Traction Company (Pa.)
Trackage" including keyed "operating trackage", 
"abandoned trackage", and "class I railroads" dated
July of 1958.  Some of the locations around Johnstown
shown on this map are Oakhurst, Franklin, Ferndale,
Roxbury, Southmont and others.  Cover well preserved.
