Great story Harold Geissenheimer . You lived it and saw the whole thing
as it happened . Thanks for sharing . I was out there last summer
looking for ex-WP  r-o-w and buildings. I found plenty including the add
for Trolley Freight on the side of the Connellsville shop bldgs. Got
lost in downtown Uniontown looking for the WP terminal due to the lack
of any street signs there.  McClellandtown r-o-w  :  BOWEST sign to
entrance to that yard completely overgrown with track still there.[RR
not WP ]  Dickerson Run  end of line . They must have carried RR
employees there as there was signs of a huge yard and across the river
was Dawson.  Of course all the terminals are still there but it was the
worst time to look for r-o-w . Better done during winter when there is
no greenery . I need to go back. All film taken got destroyed by
processor problems.  god excuse to go back.  Even the Western Maryland
thru there is gone except for a lot of bridges in Connellsville &
r-o-w.!
