Much of the outbound trackage on 21-Fineview was on concrete or Belgian
block "roadway" just slightly wider than an automobile's wheels. See
<http://gelwood.railfan.net/other/lightrail/pat-1678br.jpg> which I took
of car 1678 at the Channel 11 stop on the last day - 4/30/66.

The last 1/4-mile of the outbound line, just before turning to the
Charles St. layover, was on a paved road surface, although the trolleys
ran on the left side of the street here. See
<http://gelwood.railfan.net/other/lightrail/pat-1697ar.jpg>. I took
this photo as it was starting to snow on 4/2/66. The trolley is about
to turn right, then left (a kind of an "S" curve) onto Charles St.; the
East St. Bridge is to the right of that intersection.

If they were on time, most 21-Fineview cars laid over at Charles St.,
then went inbound on Perrysville Ave. which was the 8-Perrysville line.
For a view of 1678 at the layover stop, see
<http://gelwood.railfan.net/other/lightrail/pat-1678ar.jpg>. This photo
was taken on the last evening of trolley service (4/30/66), and was
1678's second-last run on Fineview. Note that the car is not too
crowded - the last run was SRO.

35 years ago! It seems like it was just last month.
