I said the same thing in an off line wire to Holland.  And it turns out
that is what he wanted.  Seems that some people are calling the Boston
Picture Window Cars Type 3.  That sounds like a railfan description ...
like the fans use the term Birney car and, for the most part (and not
without exception) the industry called them safety cars and did not
destinguish between the single truck bouncing spartan box and the longer
we-hick-els.  But, I also told Jim that I was no expert on that ... I
had simply not heard anything from TRC or read anything from TRC.  If Sy
Kashin were to use types 1, 2 and 3, then I'd be more likely to believe
it because he had a good deal of contact with TRC staff.  I only knew
David Gaul.  Of course, now 30 years have elapsed since Steve and I did
the PCC books and by even now David is dead.  I imagine his secretary is
too.
