To Jim Holland
Thank you for posting the information on PERC. It was nice to remember my first
days in Pittsburgh and my joining PERC. I arrived in Pittsburgh 51 years ago on
Washington's Birthday via B&O from Jersey City and Washington DC. I started to
work the next day at Montour Motor Coach Lines in Robinson Twp. Then followed the
Harmony Short Line Motor Transportation Co, Community Transit and the Port
Authority of Allegheny County. I went to the Chicago Transit Authority in March
1976. I lived in Dormont, Penn Hills, downtown (Wash Plaza) and Shadyside.
I enjoyed living in Pittsburgh and watching PERC grow to PTM. They do an excellent
job in preserving trolley history in Western Pa. Jim is also doing an excellent
job in reprinting these items.
Keep up the good work.
