I found the mimeographed update for the 1950's PRC route map, and it's
not one, but SEVEN 8-1/2X14" sheets, dated 3/15/62 - and various other
dates (see below). It's a list of all the trolley routes that were
converted to buses and/or rerouted, and includes some detailed
information.

It appears that this update sheet started around 1957, and was expanded
from time to time as routes were changed, and so the complete list is a
collection of changes from several years:

The earliest trolley-to-bus information is for routes 1, 4 and 5 which
would place that update page in 1957.

Etna and Millvale are listed as bus routes 227 and 228 respectively,
with the note that these routes have now been redesignated as 2 and 3.

All of the West End trolley routes are shown as having been converted to
bus, so that places that update page in 1959.

A page dated 10/17/63 says that route 56 was bused. This was probably
the last update sheet before PAT took over.

On a page dated 3/15/62 is this item: "Route 62 - Discontinued.
Effective May 3, 1962."

Given this information, it's probable that the maps were originally
produced between 1954-56. There are no dates on the maps in my
collection, but the basic trolley fare shown on the maps is 20 cents;
the update sheet for 12/1/61 shows the fare as 30 cents. What was the
time frame for the 20 cent fare?
