I said it was inadvertently left off the West Penn roster and for this
reason was not scrapped.
John then said it was never on the roster.
When Ed chimes in, he can probably tell us more.
Don't know what that all means.
But since it wasn't on the roster, it wasn't scrapped. Because it was
spared, PERC stepped in and purchased the car. They had it trucked from
Connellsville to Charleroi. WP abandoned in Sept--1952; Charleroi was
truncated at Simmons the last of June--1953.

The car has had one side's steel replaced, along with one end. The
project leader died unexpectedly at age 35 back in 1980 or so, and the
car has been safely stored indoors since then. It is not undergoing
further deterioration, and the restoration staff is fully aware how to
do the project. It needs a project manager and staff...everyone knows
it "needs" to be done. It's second on the list, right after 4398.
