I believe they did fix the bridges. The Fort Couch intersection was
eliminated by lowering the car line and raising the highway, but I think
they stayed on the same alignment. Only the grade was changed
substantively.

And even after they did the claim was some of the bridges had no clearance
and hence had to be operated by vehicles in only one direction at a time,
but further recollection is later they went back and fixed that.

Also, wasn't the original Drake alignment partially rebuilt when they put
Ft. Couch over it?
