I shall assert what I have asserted on other lists:

Off-topic threads tend to be self-regulating. They do not generally 
cause problems except in rare instances where they get out of 
hand. If that happens, the boom can be lowered.

John's eBay memos are sometimes spot on, sometimes well off 
the mark. So what? They are generally of interest to at least some 
of us, who would never know about them otherwise.

Happily, PRCo@ has burst forth from the era when it seemed to 
hang upon Jim Holland's solitary efforts at mouth-to-mouth. Which 
means it creates lots of email. Which means that sometimes I 
have to skip over stuff. Okay, I still have access to a hundredfold 
the information available just a few years back - and maybe tenfold 
what I have time and capacity to really assimilate.
