Quite right. That sheet is dated 1927, and from what was 
concluded in our discussion a few weeks ago, it ought to show 
both a crossover and a double-track curve south into Perrysville.

I've never bothered to check these out, so can't comment.

This is a gross and inexplicable error in the map. We know it 
couldn't have been this way, else there could have been no 44 
service at the time, let alone a 49 via tunnel.

So, it proves that the topo maps are not infallible. No doubt they 
didn't check their streetcar lines against company records.

For all that, I don't think they can be discounted. Even if I wouldn't 
trust them against contrary evidence, I'd bet that they are accurate 
for locating known trackwork where they do show it.

And, I've seen proof just this week in another city that company-
sanctioned maps can also contain errors. Trust but verify!
