Jim ET. AL.:
I see you had insomnia last night Professor.
I updated the SHJ web page a couple months ago when I came into the
possession of a couple of Ed Miller photos. I'm due for another update on
the module but I haven't been in the mood. Progress has been slow but I
want to document the module's first outing at the East Penn meet.
As for 1700 series cars up on Mt. Washington, it apparently was not
uncommon. I have several pictures at home and there are oters on the web.
I haven't finished my index of all 'Burgh trolleys on the web by number and
location, so I can't point you to them quickly. I also remember riding
those "air-conditioned" cars (remember I was NOT a rail-fan) but the
air-conditioning was always broken. Did they just send those cars up
Southern Ave. on hot muggy days???

Subject: [PRCo] Turnout Activator
HI!
This photo (http://www.voicenet.com/~dietrich/SHJ/em02.htm) contains
a
nice close-up shot of the turnout activator. This particular one
controls the turnout to either outbound 44//48 or the loop track behind
the admin building.
This activator seems to be hinged at the back so the the pressure of
the pole pushes the contactors up in the box toward the right as it
passes. If the track--switch--toggle is depressed then it draws extra
current thru these contactors to set or keep the turnout in the diverge
position (which is diverge in this particular case?!?!)
BOB:: Seems you have added some different photos and of course
rearranged it into sections!
This particular photo was not originally on your site!
