This of course is part of the problem with all the off-topic and
borderline stuff. So the question is, what should we do about it?

Incidentally, having an on-list discussion about how to cut down on list
traffic, is probably not a good way to do so. So, please send your ideas
to me personally. shadow at dementia.org if you have one of those crappy mail
clients which hides the sender's address.
