Diesel folks argue this is because GE is the largest financial services
company in the world, and they give favorable financing terms compared to
EMD. Also that they carefully control their parts and hence there's no
rebuild market for GEs, hence you buy a new GE or none, generally.
I'm surprised, though, that Pittsburgh wasn't all-Westinghouse since it
was local.
