I bought a slide collection yesterday which includes many 1950s-60s (mostly 60s) of US systems, from the same fellow that sold me the 1100-odd US b/w negatives from the 1930s-40s the day before.  He'd forgotten to tell me he had the slides and that they were available.

The slides were from another person, now dead and gone (not Bob McMann) who collected them from various sources, and, as I found out, not only had he bought a series of my views from Joe Saitta at TSI through normal means but he was also the person who rifled my collection at a slide show I gave in my house for 8 people in 1970 and made off with a number of gems.  I'd always wondered who ripped me off (I mentioned the theft to all parties but accused no one).  This person is the one responsible for those for some very obvious anti-theft devices sprinkled liberally about, especially in my photo albums (any gap has a small note reading "no photo here."
