.......from the March--1954 *ERA Headlights* -- and I quote:::
"Anybody who wants to operate Pittsburgh's Castle Shannon and/or
Pittsburgh Inclines can have them, Pgh. Rys. Co. said at a hearing on
their agandonment on February 11. Patrons who are strenuously objecting
to their being halted would have to buy the land at the bottoms and tops
of the planes, but other than that the company would be only too glad to
escapt eha annual losses arising from operation of the two ancient
cable-raised routes. In turn, the attorney for the protesting patrons
said his clients would accept the offer if the railways company would
throw in the Rt. to-Carson St. PCC line for good measure. Hearings are
to be continued."
Also in this issue is a beautiful set of photos of the move of the PERC
museum cars over the former Washington line to their new home at Arden.
