This happened about the time the 17s arrived and very early photos after
the conversion show the white front with red circles ala 17s.

Sometimes a relationship and sometimes not!
For instance, 1630 did not received the winged logo until it was
overhauled and stripped of its fans - it also got a completely new paint
job. So both logo and white front happened at the same time.
But sometimes the white front was painted on after an accident!
Also, the white front could have been painted on after a headlight
change from Golden Glow to sealed beam although this sometimes just
entailed a bright and fresh red square immediately surrounding the
headlight.
AND.......it would be extremely easy to add the winged-logo without
painting anything on the car!
