The Pitt Library maintains a web site on Historic Pittsburgh --
http://digital.library.pitt.edu/pittsburgh/. Down in the bowels of it, I
don't know how I originally got here --
http://digital.library.pitt.edu/cgi-bin/pitttext-idx.pl?notisid=22aep3676s&t
ype=header is a list of 1928 advertisements. At the very bottom of this
page is a link to a PRCo ad.

Subject: [PRCo] PRCo Advertisements
Hello. All this talk about advertisements got me wondering if and how PRCo
advertised itself.
1) Did PRCo ever use radio commercials?
2) Did PRCo ever use TV commercials?
3) Did they advertise in the paper?
4) Did they ever have any outside advertisements on their Cars (both PCCs
and low floors) about the virtues of riding with PRCo?
Just wondering how they promoted themselves.
In the book Pittsburgh Trolley Pictorial there is a low floor car that
states "Ride the Trolley Week January 10-16". This is self promotion.
Anyone know how it became the week of January 10-16?
Ray
