Hello all,
As per usual, Transit Gloria Mundi did a great job with the new tape.
I am aching for more though -- when I saw that someone actually did film the
Etna and Millvale routes - WOW!!!! The Etna line really moved swiftly on
east Ohio, didn't it? I never had the chance to ride - gone before I was a
gleam in my dad's eye. The only remants I saw whenever we travelled to
Millvale, was old tracks halfway covered with asphalt that turned onto Grant
from East Ohio and tracks in cobblestone going up East Ohio to Etna from the
bend around the old Millvale carbarn.
Wish Transit Gloria Mundi would issue a tape of film they didn't use for the
North Side Lines video.
Also, got to finally see a glimpse of the Brighton Loop.
Amazing that routes 6/14 and 21 hung on for months after the demise of West
View/Bellevue & Perrysville. I believe one of you mentioned that this one done
because PAT still didn't have enough $ for new buses???
Was hoping to see more of the Beaver Avenue lines (18-19-20). Perhaps no one
ever documented this area on film, which has soooooooooooooo drastically changed
with the advent of highway route 65. Also would've been a kick to see Millvale
carhouse in action or Manchester.
Still, I gotta be grateful that the film makers had the foresight to record what
they did, for posterity.
Matt
