Yes - I would take the jiggles and shakiness and all, of the Pgh Railways lines' old
films! bring 'em on!

Speaking for myself, I think a lot of us Pittsburghers took the lines for granted until
it was too late. That is not to say that we didn't enjoy the heck out of riding the
lines as much as we could, but we probably never thought about the filming a/o picture
taking opportunities as much as the out-of-towners who found Pittsburgh such a novelty
because, in the mid-sixties, WE STILL HAD AN ABUNDANCE OF STREETCAR ROUTES!

And as the Transit Gloria Mundi video points out, not too many photographers filmed the
bulk of the 8 Perrysville line or the 10 West View on East Street because unlike the
outer portions of the routes (prw) we found them to be humdrum, everyday points of
interest.

Whenever an East End video is produced (now THAT will be an undertaking!) I've a hunch
there will not be much extensive film of the East End trunk lines on their journeys out
of town up Fifth, Forbes, Centre, Penn, and so on, simply because a lot of photographers
might have found these double-tracked street-running areas to be boring. I betcha most
of the film will involve the trestles, prw, bridges, sharp turns, etc. I hope to have my
hunches proved wrong, however!

I took our 88 Frankstown route on Penn for granted, for sure. It was always more of a
treat to transfer onto a Negley car, or onto a West View car. And of course, the 77/54
was the arguably the best in street-running interest. Then again, taking an 88 into East
Liberty was a treat - simpy because we didn't go there as often as we went into town.

And speaking of the 77/54, I wonder if it will be included as part an East End package.
It was briefly covered in the South Hills video, and I think I saw a 77/54 crossing the
16th street bridge in the North Side video. The line's trek through the East End was
probably the bulk of the line.

Also, gotta wonder if the 94-95 and 96 would be covered as East End routes. The 94 & 95
terminated in the North actually (Aspinwall - Sharpsburg). Hmmmm...
And the McKeesport routes - some might consider them South.

I guess the East End might be two separate tapes!
