Some of you might not know that the Pearl Brewery in San Antonio Texas
is slated to close or is closed . One of the electric engines on this
property is Monongehela West Penn Baldwin  Westinghouse steeple cab
#2000 , a mate to PRMA #3000  which is at Arden or PTM . The other loco
in Texas is an Ex- Texas Electric wooden steeple cab used as a spare
loco that recently was featured in the Pentrex video on Electric Freight
operations in the US. The Mon. WP engine was undergoing maintenence work
during the filming of this video and was breifly seen in the shop.
Chores of these locos was the interchange of center-flow cars with grain
from the Union Pacific to the Brewery via street trackage between the
two. The owners of the brewery wants to consolidate operations with
their other plant in Houston. Fate of these locos is undetermined at
this time.
