Anne X. Alpern was the first woman to sit on the Supreme Court in Pennsylvania, and
also the first woman to be the state's attorney general (in the late 1950's).  I'll
have to work on the middle name, but maybe it's like "Harry S. Truman" who said,
"The 'S' stands for nothing."
