A fine line that needs to be walked. But in another post you mentioned that today we
are little better off than those of the earlly 1900s where the work week was much longer
--- today that work week is spready between 2-members of the same family to make ends
meet.
Thus time for the individual is precious and in all honesty, I would tend to lean toward
personal interests. *Many* things in life should be mutual (but probably not all) and
if I put time, effort, and *Bucks* into something, I want something out of it as well.
There is a time to Give without it being mutual -- without expecting or even thinking
of a return -- and giving after a national disaster such as 9-11 is just one of many
examples. But giving to a trolleycar museum without a return might be a fancy for some,
but not really here --- I would like something in return! This is a personal
decision and in Free--America, a valid one as well.
