County Home Siding was originally a long stub end track where special cars
to the fair could be stored. The passing track was Arden Siding, which sat
essentially where our car house does. There is identifyable concrete
marking the spot!

I know of no great map of the Washington line, apart from the 1953 USGS topo
sheets. The PTM store sells a reprint of the "Electric Railways" issue
featuring the PRCo interurban lines, but the good map in there is that of
the city of Washington.

Mark McGuire asked:

> Is County Home Siding where the Fairgrounds are now?
NO - BUT 1/10 mi NORTH OF THE FAIRGROUNDS. (I believe that there was
an Arden Stop nearer to the Fair Grounds, possibly where the original car
line crossed Main Street, about 300 yards south of County Home Siding.)

> PTM now has the Arden Loop, did the original line continue into Washington
from the loop?
NO, IT CONTINUED TO WASHINGTON ESSENTIALLY FROM THE SOUTH END OF COUNTY
HOME SIDING -- THE #1 TRACK (EAST TRACK) IN THE CAR HOUSE NEXT TO THE
RAILROAD
IS THE ORIGINAL CAR LINE.

> Does anyone have a map of the old Washington line they'd wish to share
with me.

PTM'S STORE CAN HELP YOU OUT ON THIS. ALSO, JIM HOLLAND HAS SEVERAL
GOOD MAPS,
COPIES OF WHICH HE HAS SENT TO ME -- IF HE CAN'T E-MAIL COPIES OF THEM TO
YOU,
I WILL SNAIL-MAIL COPIES THEREOF TO YOU (WITH HIS PERMISSION AND UPON YOUR
REQUEST).
