Just to finish off what I started, I searched the internet for
stagecoach info. There is relatively little info on the subject. Found
several links to a stagecoach museum in Lusk, Wyoming, but their website
seems to be down. Don't know if it is a restored stage station or a
collection of stagecoaches. The most promising is an outfit in Mancos,
Colorado, that offers 1 hour and 3 hour stagecoach rides with drivers
who tell the complete history of stagecoaches including the various
builders. That suggests that they have a collection of various
stagecoaches.
Also found a site about a stagecoach trip that was to take place earlier
this year (don't know if it came off or not) from St. Louis to
Tombstone, Arizona following the old Butterfield trail using an original
Concord coach. I checked Knott's Berry Farm's website and they still
have the stagecoach ride out there using original Butterfield coaches.
Finally, I found an outfit, Justin Carriages, who builds stagecoaches as
well as wagons, buckboards, and omnibuses.
It dawned on me that having a stagecoach and omnibus at PTM might be
appropriate to demonstrate the modes of travel before the interurban and
streetcar (hah, and y'all were thinking that this subject is off topic).
