The engineering for the track extension and loop were completed long before
Drake Loop became available. But it would not be used in any event...it
doesn't fit the topography, for starters. And it's far too tight for our
purposes at that site. We are not looking for more ways to wear out the
wheels and the rails (we already have one of those at Arden), and will not
intentionally build tighter curves than we have to.

Subject: [PRCo] Drake loop at PTM
Does anyone know if PTM plans to duplicate the "s" curve and Drake loop at
the East site? I know PAT donated the dismantled rail, etc. I guess it
would
take too much time and cost too much because of the grade from the curve
downward to the loop. I think it would be a wonderful way to "preserve" an
old section of PRCo. Of course, I've always been partial to Drake. Before
you
jump on my case Fred :>) I know that JohnQPublic could probably care less.
Just a thought. :):):)
