Or as John Swindler would say, "There's too much money out there for
transit." To which I'll add, too few brains.
Lancaster makes a good example. At the end of its existence, Conestoga
Transportation had about four office people out of a grand total of
130. Red Rose Transit Authority today has several managers in the
office, several secretaries, a receptionist to say hello when someone
opens the door. The joint is a catacomb of offices. One of those
management types spends his time dreaming up projects to keep himself
busy, such as wooden knickknacks to sell.
