Fred it just dawned on me that you of all people know what you are
saying about PCCs since you co-wrote the PCC book with Stephen Carlson ,
right ?  nuf said .  Gomaco originally wanted to use Melbourne trucks on
the Portland cars which they had reams of and had used in their Bay
State St. Ry. clone in Lowell from which they convinced the Portland
people to use instead of the concave sided Portland original cars.
Portland nixed the Melbourne trucks in favor of PCC trucks from Boston .
I don't know if the track brake is in use there or what kind of control
they have , never having the oportunity to visit Portland.  Any body
know ?
