A lot of Atlantic City no longer exists. This is both good and bad! I went
up to photograph the lighthouse a few summers ago; the surrounding area
looked as if it took a direct hit.

The St. Charles Hotel on the north end of the Boardwalk still had salt water
taps in the rooms in the early 1970s. With all the casino construction
since then, I doubt if this hotel still exists.
Trolley rail was still visible in numerous streets in the 1970s, and
multiple tracks (probably the remnants of a carbarn) could be seen near the
Inlet at the north end of the island. I'll be in Atlantic City on Dec.
4-5 - I'll check out the tracks and the hotel.
