Just a reminder, Derrick, that San Diego has a tageskarte (day ticket) that
you can use to sample their light rail lines. $5 for one day; $8 for two
days; $10 for three days; $12 for four days. Called a day tripper and
available from vending machines on the station platforms.

The South Line to San Ysidro/Tijuana was built at same time as PAT's South
Hills project. The line east to Santee was built late 1980s/early 1990s.
Extension to Old Town dates from mid 1990s, while further extension to
stadium and Mission San Diego opened within past couple years.

I recommend so that you can compare the speed of operation in San Diego vs.
Pittsburgh. Have a safe trip.

John
