Fred had the disposition of Wheeling Public Service cars right, as he always
is. Birmingham also got some of Stark Electric's cars that were curved sides
and cut in a center door on those also. Stark didn't make it to the war.
Their main car barn as well as Wheeling Public Service are both still
standing. Panhandle never one manned the 700 type car. They also had arch
bar type trucks and during Wheeling Traction
days (West Penn ownership) were set up as multiple unit. Bill Gwinn brought
at least one of the Panhandle signs on a West Penn trip and maybe Pittsburgh
too.
