Good Morning!!
Included is information on a *Professional* program for designing
Transit equipment, determining aerodynamics of said equipment, and
projecting running times of transit in addition to many other items.
Just *guessing* that this is not an El--Cheapo Program!!(:->)

New RAILSIM Train Performance Calculator Demo Available for Download
SYSTRA's new RAILSIM(R) Train Performance Calculator demonstration
release is available for download at
http://www.railsim.com/tpc/tpcdemo.htm. This is a full-featured version
of the TPC -- limited only by the size of the provided rolling stock
library and the number of provided resistance equations -- being used by
railroads, rail transit agencies, consulting firms, system suppliers and
universities. The complete list of locomotives, EMU's, DMU's, freight
cars, passenger coaches and transit vehicles available in the RAILSIM
rolling stock libraries is available at
http://www.railsim.com/tpc/rollstck.htm.
RAILSIM TPC is the ideal rail simulation software tool for:
- Trip time predictions,
- Alternative rail alignment studies,
- Fuel/electrical energy consumption and conservation
investigations,
- Development of rolling stock performance requirements and
comparison of "off-the-shelf" rolling stock models,
- Signal system safe braking distance analysis (with add-on),
- Signal system capacity/minimum supportable headway
analysis (with add-on).
RAILSIM TPC includes rolling and aerodynamic resistance modeling
equations used by railroads and rail transit agencies throughout the
world for highly-accurate results. RAILSIM Report Generator provides
flexible graphical and tabular reporting of TPC results, including
customizable reports and easy integration with your word processing,
spreadsheet, relational database and CAD applications.
