Recently someone commented that THE (my emphasis) clock on the P&LE trolley canopy was converted to a coffee table by the then-president of the P&LE. This was the clock on the south side of the canopy, seen when looking north toward downtown.
Yesterday I was looking at some mid-60s slides taken on the Smithfield St. Bridge, and I was reminded that there also was a clock on the north face of the canopy, seen when looking south toward the Mt. Washington tunnel. This side of the canopy wasn't quite as scenic as the Carson St. side, and so it wasn't photographed as often.
Where's the second clock today? Could the RR president have TWO coffee tables???
