Speaking of finances ... at the end of 1911, Conestoga Traction Company
had $225.00 in cash in the bank.  Their normal take was $2,500 a day in
nickels back then.  Adds new meaning to the term cash poor!  Were those
also troubled times?

Something strange ... BSM awarded me a dispatcher's hat badge yesterday
... complimented me on my promotion.  So where's the money?

I expected Ken Josephson to secretly laugh at my innuendo about a purple
streetcar.  Nobody saluted my offhand remarks.  I was just getting a
little tired at people who make a production about what color Muni might
paint two used PCC cars.
