Thanks very much Peter Ehrlich  for getting us straight on the whys and
wherefors of the PCC fleet colors .  Being so close to San Diego  and
familiar with the San Diego Electric Ry. PCC s  why dosn't  Muni paint
one of the Pittsburgh  PCCs in the San Diego colors ??  [cast my vote
for this ]  I even have an O scale model  PCC painted in San Diego Elec.
Ry  colors  complete with the adds they carried  for Balboa Park  and
the other one that read  [ TOPS IN TRANSPORTATION COMFORT ]  which they
were for years after .  The second vote for me would be for a DC TRANSIT
scheme with orange and two tone green which was the prettiest colors I
have seen on any transit vehicle . The worst color scheme today is that
Breda car grey they want everyone to swallow ! What a dismal color that
is even in Boston where the MBTA is painting the KINKI-SHARU cars to
match .  BLAH AND DOUBLE BLAH
