Just got that Sunday River video on PRCo. and as some of you said ,
the sounds sure dont sound like PCCs !! Thats because they used a lot
of the soundtrack off their Phila.trolleys tape even to the part where
the Peter Witt slows to a stop then a brake release is heard along with
the doors closing and the sounding of the 2 bells . Meanwhle in the PRCo
video we see a PCC stop and start up at an unknown [to me ] location .
Alot of the locations were a mystery as to where the car was due to the
narrator going on about the development of the PCC etc etc . One shot
on the 56 was where the Munhall-Lincoln Place leaves the 56 route and no
mention of this was made.
Photography was quite good and clear . We were talking about poor
condition of PCCs . Did you notice how bad #1261 AND #1264 looked with a
lot of scrapes and rust on them. And this was in 1958 ! Some others
were equally as bad.
One sound track even had a piece of IRR high speed car running about
70 mph down the track that also was heard in the Phila. video which Mr.
Pfuhler also did. Those sounds came from Wm. A. Steventon of Wisconsin
that in the past sold trolley sounds on tape , mostly done by him.[cant
remember name of co.] His son I believe still sells them tho I have not
seen an add for them for some time .
Like one of our listers said , turn off the volume and enjoy the
video .
