Hey, Jim --- thanks for the very complete run-down on this
question. Apparently I missed thie original post.
As for the low 3700's and 3800's having cream trim between
the belt rail and the letterboard: My recollection is that
both series had gray trim until the early 40's when the
cream paint began to appear on some cars and, as I further
recall, not all of them everreceived the cream paint.
Problem is, though, I can't prove any of this.
