YUP you are right Jim . Boston PCCs had their roofs painted a buff color
when delivered during the war as a Civil Defense " camouflage " and
were dubbed "tan tops " . #3022-3071 were constructed during the last
two years of the war under a War Production Board order . Cars
#3001-3021 were produced before the war in 1941 but also had their roofs
re-painted buff like the others by Boston Elevated Ry.
