pre-WW2 -- I believe that most of the photos to which you are referring
are post-WW2.
HAVING LIVED IN CHARLEROI FROM 1929 T0 1935 AND HAVING SPENT TWO COMPLETE
SUMMERS THERE IN 1939 AND 1940, I HAVE TO TELL YOU THAT I NEVER SAW A 3700
ON THE CHARLEROI LINE -- NOR DID I EVER SEE A 3800 IN WASHINGTON SERVICE.
OTHER THAN THE US&S PROMO PIC OF A 3800 AT THOMPSONVILLE (APPARENTLT TAKEN
IN 1928 AND WITH PRCo POSSIBLY SHOWCASING THE THEN-NEW 3800'S) AND SOME
POST-WW2 PHOTOS MANY OF WHICH WERE TAKEN ON FAN-TRIPS, I HAVE NO EVIDENCE
TO THE CONTRARY. I STAND BY MY STATEMENTS -- CHECK THE DATES ON CAR
ASSIGNMENTS OUT OF SHANNON AND TUNNEL -- ALTHOUGH BOTH SERIES MAY HAVE HAD
SOME CARS ASSIGNED THERE, PRCo STILL COULD HAVE RESTRICTED THEIR USAGE TO
SPECIFIC LINES.
Also, in an off-list reply to FWS3, I had also acknowledged that
assignments were mixed after WW2 due to car availability and the intro
of the 1600's
All of this reminds me of the old vaudeville nut, "Vas yew der, Charlie?"

Indeed, I saw several of these photos with my own eyes yesterday, in
locations easily recognizable as being on the Washington or Charleroi line
(well, actually, do you consider Roscoe to be on the Charleroi line, or
Charleroi to be on the Roscoe line? ;-)
So, I'll vouch for this.
